Life After Bruce
September 2nd, 2009 | Posted by CTLHello,
I am hoping you will place this message for the members to read. I will continue to pray for everyone.
It feels really strange not to have my hubby with me. I know he is in a better place.
Thursday morning we had a Catholic Mass for Bruce. We walked to the cemetery with a Highland Bagpiper in the lead. He played a beautiful hymn . The funeral car followed with the Knights of Columbus and then pall bearers. Everyone walked.. not one person drove to the cemetery we were received by the Marines. He had a full military honors, 21 gun salute, a female marine played taps and the presentation was incredible. When she finished the bagpiper played taps and at the end the bagpiper played Amazing Grace and then he walked off into the distance still playing. It was Awesome. What a proud moment for us.
I started this email to you on Saturday and with so much going on I did not send it. I ‘m not sure if you will receive donations in Bruce’s memory but will I be notified ? I would like to send a thank you from the family.
It is so lonely after 38 years and I’m going to have to change some habits. I keep making a pot of coffee (10 cups) which I did for all those years.. I guess I will get the hang of it…
Love you guys….please always remember Bruce loved you and Melody and he was so touched when you came to visit…He kept saying I wish I could have stayed awake more than I did. Hoping you would understand.. He was a proud man and he loved the Lord, his country and especially his family. We miss him so. Love Carol
